HUNTING CONTEST RULES
The rules documented below are applicable to every contest sponsored by B.A.C.O.N. If you have any questions, check the FAQs page.
If you don't find your answer there, use the Contact Us page and we'll follow up accordingly. Failure to fully comply with these
rules will result in immediate full and final loss of all uses by any contestant.
- Contestants must be a resident of Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma or Texas and have a valid state issued identification card, from their state of residence. Contestants will be required to exhibit I.D. during weigh-in.
- Contest Registration is restricted to online only. No cash or in person signing up is allowed.
- The Contest Registration will close twenty-four (24) hours prior to the contest start date and time.
- Every team member acknowledges and accepts Contest Rules and Release of Liability, at the point in time team registration is submitted, and payment is completed.
- Contest Registration and payment are final, and refunds will not be issued, once contest has commenced.
- Feral Hog hunting only, no other game allowed.
- For the purposes of our contests, Feral Hog is defined as a wild hog that is the descendant of a hog previously escaped or released, and never having been in captivity. Hog must be free ranging and not otherwise limited in movement by hog proof fencing.
- Do not gut or otherwise modify any hog to be weighed, in any manner. Any hog showing signs of tampering will be immediately disqualified. Barrow hogs (castrated/no testicles) will be considered modified, without regard to when the hog was castrated.
- Eligible hogs must be weighed within 24 hours of being taken.
- Each contestant must be registered as part of a team, identified by their unique state issued identification card.
- Any contestant may only be on one team. Any contestant found to have participated as part of more than one team will be permanently banned from current and future contests, along with all teammates.
- Hunting must take place on low fence properties only. No trapping. No hunting with dogs. No helicopter hunting. No hunting of commercial properties to include but not limited to feed lots and waste disposal facilities.
- Contestants may not solicit hog hunting opportunities for the purpose of participating in this contest.
- Hogs may be killed using any handheld firearm or archery equipment identified as legal means by their state's wildlife management authority.
- Aerial drones may be used for surveillance purposes only, in accordance with federal, state and local drone usage and hunting laws.
- Any contestant planning to weigh a hog on any Monday during the contest must
- Take pictures of the hog(s) to be weighed.
- Clearly mark each hog with a permanent paint marker to include date, primary team member ID and sequential number (if weighing more than 1 hog) on each hog.
- Send image(s) along with text message to contest organizer at 817-523-1020 before 11:59:59PM Sunday.
- Contest organizer reserves the right to dissect and/or inspect for any sign of injection or tampering on any hog eligible for any leaderboard. Any mark or sign of tampering will be grounds for disqualification of team and hog(s) from contest.
- Video evidence to support all hog kills is highly encouraged.
- All hogs to be weighed must be marked to identify date taken and team.
- A polygraph is required for all contestants eligible for pot payout. The team member having taken any pot winning hog must complete the polygraph. Polygraph fee will be deducted from pot payout.
- Pot-winning contestants must complete and provide all required I.R.S. documents within 10 business days of the contest end, to the contest organizer.
- Pot-winning contestants will receive a 1099-MISC where applicable by I.R.S. tax law.
- Each team may place in only one (1) place per pot.
- Each team may place in one (1) or more pots, where that team has entered.
- In the event of a same-weight tie in any pot, the date and time of weight taken will be used as the tiebreaker. The team with the earlier date/time will be the winner of this tiebreaker.
- The Contest Organizer will provide at each weigh in, an official weigh scale to be used for all hog weigh in activities. Only the results of the official weigh scale will be recorded for contest pot purposes.
- Contestants will obey all local, state and federal laws, rules and regulations.
- Report any illegal activity to the Game Warden or appropriate authorities.
- The contest organizer retains the right to refuse any entry into the contest.
